Community-Based Mentoring

Spending time together out in the local community is how Bigs and Littles develop their relationship. After all, to change a child’s perspective of the world, you need to spend time out in it.

Many relationships between Bigs and Littles fall under our Community-Based programs. These are one-to-one outings and activities, where mentors and mentees do things they enjoy together, like:

  • Playing basketball or going for a walk in the park
  • Going to museum
  • Cooking a meal together
  • Riding bikes
  • Attending a sporting event

Some Bigs meet their Littles on the weekends. Others get together with their Littles in the evenings. Each match is unique and develops a schedule that works for them. As with most of our programs, these Bigs and Littles spend time together 2 – 4 times each month.
